You can easily adjust the brightness and dimming level remotely from the Hive app to ensure the light level is exactly how you want it. Now you can control your downlights via the Hive app so the lighting is exactly how you like it, exactly when you need it – without wasting energy. You can dim the lights in your living room for movie night or keep the lights in your kitchen bright so you can see what’s cooking. All with a tap of the Hive app. By setting up a quick action on your Hive app dashboard, you can control groups of downlights together. So with one tap of the app, you can turn all your lights on or off at once, from anywhere. It can also be used with Hive Actions to make your home work seamlessly around you. It’s also simple to install and is the same size as a halogen bulb for maximum compatibility, meaning you can install it in a jiffy. For added security and peace of mind, you can set up the Mimic mode which makes your lights turn on and off in a varying pattern, making it look like someone’s home even if they’re not there. Please note that for the Hive app you’ll need an Apple iPhone or iPad (iOS 9 or higher) or a device running Android (min 4.4). You can also run the app on an internet-enabled laptop or tablet with an up-to-date browser.

Some Zigbee hubs (especially non‑Hive ones) detect bulbs as dimmable only, not tuneable. This results in:
- Bulbs appears as “warm white only”
- No colour‑temperature slider available
