Apple TV Setup
Follow these simple steps to set up your Apple TV and connect it to your TV.
Before you begin
Make sure you have your Apple TV, power cable, HDMI cable, TV remote, Wi-Fi details and Apple ID login ready.
Plug the Apple TV into power
Connect the Apple TV to its power cable, then plug it into a wall socket.
Connect it to the TV
Use an HDMI cable to connect the Apple TV to an HDMI port on your TV.
Select the correct HDMI input
Turn on the TV and use your TV remote to select the HDMI input connected to the Apple TV.
Pair or use the Apple TV remote

Choose language and region
Select your preferred language and region when prompted on the screen.
Connect to the internet
Connect to Wi-Fi, or use Ethernet if your Apple TV model has an Ethernet port.
Sign in with an Apple ID
Enter your Apple ID details when prompted to connect your account.
Follow the on-screen setup steps
Complete the remaining prompts, including settings, apps and any updates shown on screen.
Useful note
The remote may look different depending on the Apple TV model, but the setup steps are still very similar across Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD models.
