Apple TV Remote Pairing
Follow these steps if your Apple TV remote is not pairing or responding correctly.
Before you begin
Try inserting fresh batteries or fully charging the remote first. Keep the remote close to the Apple TV box while pairing.
Check the remote power
Insert fresh batteries, or charge the Apple TV remote if your model has a rechargeable battery.
Hold the remote close to the Apple TV
Move the remote very close to the Apple TV box, almost touching it.
Press the pairing buttons
Press and hold the Back button, or Menu button on older remotes, and the Volume Up button at the same time for up to 15 seconds.
Follow the on-screen message
If a message appears on the TV screen, follow the pairing instructions shown.
Try again if needed
It can sometimes take more than one attempt to pair successfully, so repeat the pairing steps if necessary.
