Samsung Watch Power Issues
Samsung Watch Power Issues
If your Samsung Watch will not turn on or does not appear to be charging, try the checks below.
Before you begin
This can be caused by a fully discharged battery, charging contact issues, a faulty cable, or a faulty charging dock.
Place the watch on charge
Put the watch on its charging dock and make sure it sits correctly on the charger.
If the battery is completely discharged, the watch may not show a charging symbol straight away.
Leave it charging for around 8 hours
Samsung notes that if the battery is completely discharged, the watch may need charging before it can turn on.
Leave the watch on charge for around 8 hours to make sure it is fully charged.
Check the cable and plug
Try a different USB cable, charging plug or wall socket if available.
A faulty cable, weak plug, or faulty socket can stop the watch from charging correctly.
Check the charging contacts
Check the back of the watch and the charging dock for dust, dirt, or anything blocking the charging contacts.
Gently wipe the contact points with a soft, dry cloth, then place the watch back on the charger.
Reposition the watch on the charger
Lift the watch off the charger, then place it back down carefully.
Make sure the watch is centred on the charging dock and that the charger is not upside down or misaligned.
Try turning it on again
After charging, press and hold the power button until the Samsung logo appears.
If the watch still does not respond, keep it on charge and try again after a short while.
Check if there is still no power
If there is still no power after charging for around 8 hours and trying the checks above, there may be a fault with the watch, cable, charging dock, or battery.
