How to Pair the Ring Doorbell/Camera
Follow these steps to pair your Ring Doorbell or Camera with the Ring app.
Before you begin
Make sure your Ring device is charged or powered, your phone is nearby, the Ring app is installed, and you have your Wi-Fi password ready.
Download the Ring app
Install the Ring app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Open the Ring app
Open the app and sign in to your Ring account, or create a new account if needed.
Tap Set Up a Device
In the Ring app, tap Set Up a Device, then choose Doorbells.
Scan the QR code
Scan the QR code. It is usually on the back of the doorbell, inside the box, or on the setup card.
Put the doorbell into setup mode
Press the setup button on the doorbell. On many Ring models this is an orange button, but the location can vary by model. The light on the front should start spinning.
Connect to the Ring Doorbell
Your phone may ask to connect to a temporary Ring Wi-Fi network. Allow this when prompted.
Choose your home Wi-Fi network
Select your Wi-Fi network, enter the password, then wait while the doorbell connects.
Finish the setup in the Ring app
The app may ask you to name the doorbell, set your address, update the device, and adjust motion settings.
Test it
Press the doorbell button and check that your phone receives a notification.
