Pairing issues?
Before you reset
- Put both earbuds in the charging case.
- On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings.
- Find Grind, Grind Fuel, or Skullcandy Grind.
- Tap Forget This Device or Unpair.
- Turn Bluetooth off on your phone for now.
How to reset Skullcandy Grind
- Take both earbuds out of the case.
- Make sure they are powered on, but not connected to your phone.
- Press and hold the button on both earbuds at the same time for around 4 to 6 seconds.
- You should hear tones or see the LEDs flash, which means the reset has completed.
- Place both earbuds back into the charging case.
- Wait a few seconds, then take both earbuds out again.
- The earbuds should reconnect to each other and enter pairing mode.
Skullcandy’s general earbud reset guidance says to forget the earbuds from Bluetooth first, remove both earbuds from the case, then hold both earbud buttons for several seconds until the reset confirmation occurs. The earbuds should then re-enter pairing mode.
How to pair them again
- Turn Bluetooth back on.
- Open your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Wait for Grind, Grind Fuel, or Skullcandy Grind to appear.
- Tap it to pair.
- Accept any pairing prompts that appear.
If they still will not pair
- Make sure both earbuds and the case are charged.
- Check that the earbuds are sitting correctly in the case.
- Clean the charging contacts on the earbuds and inside the case with a dry cloth or cotton bud.
- Restart your phone and try again.
- Try pairing them to another phone to check whether the issue is with the earbuds or the original device.
- Check the Skullcandy app or Skull-iQ app for firmware updates, as Skullcandy notes that updates can help with connection issues.
