How to set up your Fire TV Stick
- Plug the Firestick into the TV
Insert the Firestick into an HDMI port on the back or side of your TV. - Connect the power cable
Plug the USB cable into the Firestick, then plug the other end into a suitable UK power plug and wall socket.
It is best to use the wall plug rather than the TV’s USB port, as the TV may not give enough power. Please ensure your UK plug is at least 5W as this will provide enough power for your device. - Turn on the TV
Use your TV remote to select the correct HDMI input. For example, HDMI 1, HDMI 2 or HDMI 3. - Put batteries in the Fire TV remote
The remote should pair automatically. If it does not, hold the Home button for around 10 seconds. - Follow the on-screen setup
Choose your language, then connect to your Wi-Fi network. - Sign in to your Amazon account
Enter your Amazon account details, or create an account if you do not already have one. - Let it update
The Fire TV Stick may download updates. Keep it plugged in and wait for this to finish. - Choose your apps
You can install apps such as Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, BBC iPlayer and ITVX. - Start watching
Open an app, sign in if needed, and choose something to watch.
