How to Set up Amazon Echo:
Before you start make sure you have:
Your Echo Show 8 and power adaptor.
Your Wi-Fi password.
An Amazon account.
Your phone nearby, with the Amazon Alexa app installed.
How to set it up
- Plug it in
Connect the power adaptor to the Echo Show 8, then plug it into a wall socket. The screen should turn on automatically. - Choose your language
Tap your preferred language on the screen. - Connect to Wi-Fi
Select your home Wi-Fi network and enter the password. - Sign in to your Amazon account
Enter your Amazon login details on the screen. - Confirm your details
Follow the on-screen steps to confirm your time zone, address, device location and device name. - Choose your settings
You may be asked about things like wallpaper, privacy options, updates, Alexa features and offers. - Let it update
If the Echo Show downloads an update, leave it plugged in and wait for it to finish. - Test Alexa
Once you see the home screen, say:
“Alexa, what’s the weather?”
